Hello, this is CTNS.

Amid growing concerns over battery fire incidents, we at CTNS are fully committed to providing safer battery packs through the adoption of advanced materials and cutting-edge technologies.

Today, we are pleased to share some exciting news about our recent progress in battery safety.

In November 2024, our newly developed battery pack successfully passed the thermal runaway propagation prevention test in accordance with EN 62619 standards.

What is Thermal Runaway?

Thermal runaway occurs when excessive heat within a battery cell triggers uncontrollable chemical reactions, causing a rapid rise in temperature.

Given that batteries are composed of numerous cells, a single thermal runaway event can lead to a chain reaction, potentially resulting in widespread fire.

This phenomenon is especially critical in high-energy-density batteries, making thermal runaway prevention a key challenge in ensuring battery safety.

What is EN 62619?

EN 62619 is a European standard that defines safety requirements for lithium battery systems, particularly for industrial applications such as electric machinery and energy storage systems.

As an essential certification for entering the European market, this standard ensures the reliability and safety of lithium-ion batteries

Our newly developed battery pack is designed to effectively block thermal propagation, preventing thermal runaway from spreading to adjacent cells. This is achieved through the application of advanced materials specifically tailored to mitigate thermal runaway.

While it may not be possible to completely eliminate fire risks, this breakthrough marks a significant advancement in both safety and performance compared to conventional battery packs. It further strengthens the protection of both users and products.

Stepping Toward Global Markets

This test success lays a solid foundation for obtaining CE certification, a crucial step for entering the European market. It also serves as a milestone in CTNS’s journey toward global market expansion.

We remain dedicated to continuous innovation and technological development to provide safe and reliable energy solutions for battery markets worldwide.

Thank you.
