What is the AI Voucher Support Program?
The AI Voucher Support Program, overseen by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency, is a government support initiative designed to promote the adoption and utilization of AI technology, a core technology of the 4th Industrial Revolution era.
The program solicits projects through a competitive application process across five fields (General, AI Semiconductors, Small Businesses, Medical, and Global) according to the needs of the applicants. Selected supplier companies can receive vouchers worth up to 200 million KRW.
AI solution providers are recruited year-round, and demand companies can select suitable suppliers and AI solutions from a pool of suppliers. They submit a business plan and, if selected through the evaluation process, receive AI vouchers.
Supplier companies can introduce competitive AI technology to the industry, creating new market opportunities. Demand companies can promote digital transformation by utilizing advanced AI technology and solutions from supplier companies.
Advancing towards an Intelligent Battery Pack Manufacturing Plant
Through this support program, CTNS plans to establish an AI-based quality management system using a convergence AI system to optimize the quality and production volume of the SPOT resistance welding process, a critical step among the 20 manufacturing processes of secondary battery packs.
Additionally, to prepare for the rapidly growing multi-variety small-lot production battery pack market, we aim to upgrade further by introducing a flexible battery pack production solution (C-FMS) with an AI-based quality management system. This will help us secure global competitiveness in battery pack manufacturing and lead the market.
We anticipate securing additional global customers and supplying high-quality products to domestic mid-sized and large enterprise customers through this project.
Expected Benefits from the Support Program
CTNS expects that this project will enhance production efficiency by improving productivity and reducing quality defects and failure costs. Consequently, we foresee an increase in total sales and exports through AI adoption.
Furthermore, the AI-based C-FMS system aligns with future industrial development trends such as carbon neutrality, electrification, and wireless technology, making it highly applicable across various industries. This system can be exported to multiple countries.
By optimizing the SPOT welding process with AI and reducing quality inspection and management time through vision inspection AI, we can shorten the production period by more than one day, ensuring timely delivery and achieving customer satisfaction.
Through this support program, CTNS can establish an AI-based quality management system in the previously developed C-FMS for theย first time in the industry.
The AI Voucher Support Program will help CTNS enhance market competitiveness, ensuring sustained demand for our C-FMS-based multi-variety small-lot production secondary battery packs.
